sheepscapes

drawing in the field by Kate Foster

An ongoing project in the present tense makes connections in my locality and extends outwards. The focus is changing environments, culture and agriculture, and how people, animals, land and climate adjust to each other. My main way of investigating is to draw in the field, supported by reading and conversation. I learned more about border sheepscapes on sheep-walks. A blog acts as a visual diary documenting themes of wool, lamb, singularity and sheepwalk.  One outcome in 2010 was a set of postcards (see bookworks section) and in 2012 an exhibition entitled Composition (Palm & Coconut), stemming from the arrival of Lac-tek, an electric mummy, in a lambing shed.
